A Valentine's Tablescape For II

Writer's picture: AliAli

I have created a vintage Valentine's tablescape for two. You can easily create your own with vintage or new pieces for two or more.

If you're going to be staying in & enjoy a home-cooked meal, or even if you're ordering in, why not set the table for two & make it extra special? I'll add links below of vintage items currently available as well as new items. I love to mix new & vintage pieces together; it creates a perfect ambiance.

A Valentines Tablescape
I created the tablescape setting side by side, one at the end of the table & the other right next to one another on the side of the table. Conversations can be made easily & both will have access to any food on the table by pushing the simple centerpiece to the other end of the table. I like to create tablescapes keeping in mind how they will look their best & functional too.
As my base, I used a vintage wood board for the centerpiece. Having a base can help with moving any centerpiece with ease. I used flowers from CCH Spring Collection. I'll link each flower below except one that is not part of the collection. All are arranged in one of CCH vintage inspired pails. To create the arrangement, I made a grid. I mentioned how to create arrangements in a previous post that I will link here & at the bottom of this post. To elevate the arrangement, I add several red books for a pop of color & texture to the space. Glass candle holders are new & vintage Hobnail holders with white tapers.

A Spring Arrangement
I brought out our everyday white dishes as the dinner plate layered with a vintage salad plate & red transferware dessert plate. I put the setting inside a vintage advertising crock for the flatware. Two simple linens for napkins & glassware I added two. Pink glassware that is vintage inspired & red vintage glassware. At the opposite end of the table, I created a serving space with vintage serving ware, a French linen towel & a tureen placed on top of a red transferware platter.
