Let's Have A Pumpkin Donut
There's nothing better than a warm donut, but if you're like me & not an early riser, then you probably will end up with a cold donut that has been sitting out for a while. So why not make your very own? I did today & I'm in pumpkin donut heaven.
Sundays at Country Chic Homes during the fall are for football (Go LA Rams!) & being all day in the kitchen making everyone's favorite dishes. Today was a little extra special; I made donuts for the first time. I timed it well enough to where I would have a warm donut with my hot morning coffee. They're super easy to make & since we're in the holiday baking season. You probably already have the ingredients in your pantry, so you're set to bake them. I have linked the pan that I used here, recipe makes for twelve donuts.
Ingredients for Donuts
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp pumpkin pie puree
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Donut Topping Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon or cinnamon sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter melted.
Let's Bake The Donuts
Preheat oven to 350* F.
Grease donut pan.
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder & soda, salt & pumpkin pie spice.
Combine pumpkin puree, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, butter, milk & vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mix until blended & smooth.
Add & mix ingredients in the large bowl.
Spoon batter into donut pan; don't fill to the top; fill up to 3/4
Bake for about 10-15 minutes. Check by inserting a toothpick until it comes out clean.
Cool the donuts for about a minute or two, then remove them from the pan.
Donut Topping
Mix sugar & cinnamon in a pie pan (it works better than in a bowl)
Brush each donut with butter & roll in cinnamon sugar to coat.
Grab your coffee or a glass of milk & ENJOY!
