My Little Shop
I think the idea came to me late Thursday night of last week, I was sitting in my living room & wondered how can I make my online shop better. By better, I mean visually for pictures, reels & for me, since I am the only one who shops physically Country Chic Homes.
I wanted items to be displayed just as they would be at a brick n mortar. I already have them on a metal storage rack but inboxes. I have a few items out that I use in my home decor to showcase them. I knew I needed something grand that would give me areas to display & areas for storage. I looked on Facebook Marketplace for a hutch, but nothing was coming up just right. It was more than just paint. I was looking for a certain look & I wasn't finding what I needed. Friday couldn't come soon enough as I needed to head out to a local store that I believe is national, Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Such a great organization & what they do, I try to support them as much as possible.
I walked in, looked to my right & there she was my perfect hutch. She had everything that I needed & I wouldn't even have to paint her. She's a light wood color with no stain or paint. She has storage space & display areas & built very well. I love that she is simple but has so much detail.
I set up the delivery & I knew I had a huge task in front of me. I needed to clear out what I currently have set up, including my personal decor. It took me all of Friday evening & part of the night to clear out. I was able to re-organize my faux flower collection & decor on a metal rack. On the top shelf, I stored my larger shipping boxes & packaging items. Now Saturday, she was delivered & it was time to set up Country Chic Homes. So many boxes of all different sizes needed to be open. Somehow styling was not a difficult task to do. I knew where everything would go. I love how it all came together & I can't wait to restyle her again & again.
To make the area feel cozy, I added some decor to the wall side of the hutch. Baskets, vintage frames, chippy wood pieces & French zinc buckets did the trick. I kept a side table that I already had for baskets & was able to store a few seasonal items in them. I placed the table in front of the hutch to give it a shop feel. To finalize, I laid down a runner to bring in warmth & before my eyes, I had my very own Country Chic Homes Shop. Dreams do come true they come in different sizes.
I am so happy I had this idea on a late Thursday night that kept me up I am sure it won't be my last. Somehow ideas are just better late at night.
