The Glassware of CCH Tablescapes
This post is part of a series of three, Elements of a Tablescape. At the end of the three posts, I will combine all three. You'll still have the option to review each post individually. Today we will start with glassware.
The glitz & beauty of glassware can be found on every tablescape here at CCH. The element of glass brings something special to the table & each one is carefully picked out. In this post, I will share with you my collection of glassware from vintage & new that is continually growing.

When I create a tablescape, I think about every part, every element I will be using & how it will be used. For my glassware, I consider the color, the height & the type of tablescape it will be used on. I plan I will only be using one or two & glasses. For more formal tables, I prefer to use glasses that are all the same color. I can mix & match if I don't have a full set. But as long as they're similar in appearance, they work for a formal tablescape. Choosing what they will be needed for is important, such as for different wines or water. Tables that are more casual, such as a farmhouse tablescape. I like to mix & match glasses from color & style. When creating a table for a specific holiday or theme, I use my glassware as the pop of color representing the theme.

The hunt for finding glassware is always fun & something that I am always looking for. I mostly use vintage glassware; there is something about vintage glass that has more character & the thickness of the glass. When buying for vintage glassware, I look at local flea markets & garage sales & once in a while; I'll search them on Facebook Marketplace. Esty is another place to look for them. I recently connected with Christina; she owns Junk Love Treasures. Christina has such a wonderful shop of vintage items. Having a connection with her, she has helped me by sourcing many of my glassware. As a content creator, I plan ahead for holiday tablescapes & since I prefer vintage over new, I let Christina know what I am looking for. I always notify her in advance. Let's just say that she has been so amazing that I already have my Fall tablescapes ready to go, AKA in August! So when you find that one person, connect with them; it can be online like I have or in person at your local flea market or antique shop. A huge tip, if you come across a set that isn't complete, but you love it, snag it up, as you might come across more in the future. & you can always mix & match your glassware. When I am on a crunch for time, I will look for new. I usually shop online, & see who will provide me with the quickest shipping since I am in a crunch for time. I will look for vintage-inspired glassware.
I get asked how & where I store my glassware. Good question! I used to keep them in bins & boxes, but it was such a hassle getting to them & I would never use them since it was always an ordeal getting them out. So now, I have them in my office displayed on metal shelves. They're bathroom caddies, but they work perfectly as they have bars all around each shelf which helps to keep them secured. I also have several in my hutch, I will be rotating them by season as my hutch is seen vs. the ones that are stored in my office. Currently, I have displayed colors that are perfect for spring & summer. Always display what works best for you. By displaying several in my hutch, they serve as functional decor.
I am excited to bring you this series of tablescapes. In the following post, we will be discussing dinnerware. Ensure you're subscribed to www.countrychichomes.com to be notified when the next post is live. Thank you for always enjoying my tables; as you know, I love to create a tablescape any day!
